The "Queen's Kiss" or "Blenheim spot" on a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is a chestnut-colored marking, often lozenge-shaped, on the forehead between the ears. It's a desirable trait in the breed, stemming from a legend about Sarah Churchill, Duchess of Marlborough. The story says she pressed her thumb on the head of a pregnant dog while awaiting news of her husband's return from the Battle of Blenheim, and the resulting puppies had the distinctive mark.
