A Call
To Help
Paul and Kathy Shepard Lee encountered countless grieving families in Georgia and beyond, all desperately seeking assistance to cover the burial costs of their minor children. Moved by these heartbreaking stories, they saw firsthand how the financial strain of burial expenses compounded parents’ grief, leaving them feeling helpless and overwhelmed.
Determined to find a solution, Paul and Kathy dedicated hours to researching existing resources and reaching out to social service agencies. However, their search revealed a troubling reality—few organizations provided support specifically for the burial of children.
Committed to addressing this unmet need, the couple established Children’s Burial Assistance, Inc. (CBA) in 2005. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, CBA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to easing families’ burdens by providing donated burial plots (where available throughout the US). With hopes to offer assistance with cremation costs, and grave opening and closing fees.
