History of Beyond Beauty Academy
Beyond Beauty Academy (BBA) opened its door in 2013. BBA is a professional full service academy that offers students the skills needed to become a cosmetologist, barber, nail technician, wax technician, makeup artist and instructor in the beauty industry.
Mission
To prepare students for rewarding and growth-centric careers in the beauty and barber industry, through salon-modeled, student-centered training and development of the highest caliber, leading to successful employment.
Educational Goals and Objectives
The curricula will include skill training, textbook review, lectures, audiovisual aids, practical demonstrations, as well as the business aspect of the trade. BBA will prepare each student to become a beauty professional in the career discipline of their choice, increasing their potential for employment. Each student will accomplish their studies within the guidelines established by the Commonwealth of Virginia Board of Barber and Cosmetology.
Licensing
Beyond Beauty Academy is certified to operate in accordance with the provisions of the Code of Virginia and applicable regulations of the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia as well as the Board for Barbers and Cosmetology.

Thank you for visiting Beyond Beauty Academy! This school has been a dream of mine for many years. I am so happy to see this dream come true. I am an advanced stylist with over 25 years of experience and the successful business owner of Above All Hair Studio and Spa in Hampton, VA. My experience includes training in hair, makeup, teaching and serving my community. I am a licensed Stylist, Master Aesthetician and Master Instructor. My passion for beauty doesn’t stop at Above All Hair Studio or Beyond Beauty Academy.
I enjoy giving back to my community which has supported me throughout the years. I find strength in helping women that cannot help themselves when dealing with cancer through the American Cancer Society’s “Look Good, Feel Better” program, “Relay for Life” benefit and Sister to Sister mentor group as a mentor and Board member which helps preteen and teenage girls develop self-esteem and courage to accomplish anything they set their mind to doing. My greatest joy is the start up of my own organization called “Beauty in Unity". It is a community service group working to encourage beauty in all women and young girls of all ages.
