A Note from The Pastor
Hope Christian Church is made up of friendly, loving people who together are serving the Lord Jesus Christ and are seeking to minister to the needs of others. We have ministries and activities for the entire family, from child to adults. We are an independent, evangelical, Bible believing church, dedicated to carrying out the great commission by reaching the lost with the Gospel and building up the believer with God's Word. We believe that Christ can meet all of man's needs, and we are working to carry this message to our city and even across the country's through our partner pastors outreach. As we worship our Lord and enjoy the fellowship of believers, it is our aim and prayer that Hope Christian Church will bring honor and praise to the Lord Jesus Christ. We take seriously our commitment to “Exalt the Savior, Equip the saints and Evangelize the sinner.” We are fervently praying and trusting that the Lord will see us through another year in spite of the current turmoil in our country. Therefore we humbly ask you (friends and Christian community from around the world) to pray continually for the political change and democracy will prevail sooner. Pray also for the growth of God’s kingdom throughout this land of Pagodas.
Hope Christian Church is located in northern part of Yangon a city of nine million inhabitants affording great opportunities for evangelism and church planting. Yangon is also the center of both government and non-government organizations, as well as the only gateway to the outside world which will benefit the ministry of Hope Christian Church.
1. The Bible
We believe the Bible as divinely inspired Word of God, infallible and supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct (2 Tim. 3: 16).
2. God
We believe eternal true living God in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He is the Creator of all that there is (Deut. 6: 4; John 1:1, 3).
3. Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, fully God and yet fully Man. We believe in His virgin birth, His sinless life, and His death on the cross was vicariously atonement for sin, resurrected bodily and ascended into heaven (Matt. 1: 18-25; John. 20: 11-21; Acts 1:9).
4. The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Triune Godhead, that He is a Person and that empowering and manifesting for the holy life service, witnessing f or the propagation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world (John 14: 16-18).
5. Man
We believe man was created in the image of God, but in Adam all men sinned, lost his original life. Therefore, man needs a Savior and man is lost without God (Gen. 1: 26-27; Rom. 6: 23).
6. Salvation
We believe that salvation is by God’s grace through faith in Christ alone (Eph. 2: 8). Jesus Christ is the Savior of all who call upon Him as Lord (John. 3: 16).
7. The Church
We believe the Church embracing all true born-again believers is the body and the Bride of Christ of which He is the sole Head. We believe in the Mission of the Church in obedience to the Great Commission to do into all over the world to preach and teach the Gospel of Christ, and make all nations the Disciples of Christ (Matt. 16: 18-19; Eph. 1: 22-13).
8. The Last Thing
We believe in rapture and the personal, visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to earth and the establishment of His kingdom and all nations will acknowledge Him as King (Matt. 16: 27; 2 Thess. 4: 16-17).
9. The Ordinances
We believe in two ordinances for the local church: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer into water in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit (Rom. 6:3-5). The Lord’s Supper is a symbolic act of obedience whereby believers in Christ through partaking of the bread and the fruit of the vine, memorialize the death of the Redeemer and anticipate His second coming (1 Cor. 10: 16-17).
