Pastor Von Herbert is a dedicated servant of God and the Lead Pastor of Freedom Outpost Ministries in Surigao City, Philippines. Born with a heart for ministry, Pastor Von’s journey began as a pastor at Gospel Light Fellowship in Zamboanga City, where he served for six years. During this time, he grew in faith and leadership, laying the foundation for his future calling. With a heart full of passion and a desire to spread the love of Christ, he stepped into greater roles of responsibility and service.

In 2016, by God’s divine calling, Pastor Von, along with his wife, Shilohmei Salimbagat, moved to Surigao City to pioneer a new church. This step of faith led them to establish Gospel Light Freedom Outpost, a community where God’s love and truth could be shared freely. Over the years, the church grew and evolved, officially becoming Freedom Outpost Ministries. Today, it stands as a thriving beacon of hope and faith, radiating the light of Christ throughout the region. Pastor Von has now been in full-time ministry for 15 years, with six years spent in Zamboanga City and the last nine years dedicated to serving the people of Surigao City.

Freedom Outpost Ministries is located in Surigao City, which serves as the very gateway to the region. Pastor Von and his team believe that God has strategically assigned them to be a lookout for the city and to guard the gates of the region. Their mission is to stand in faith, praying for the protection, prosperity, and spiritual awakening of the area. As a ministry situated at this pivotal location, they are committed to interceding on behalf of Surigao City and the surrounding regions, acting as a spiritual watchtower to uphold the Kingdom of God in their community.

Pastor Von is a graduate of King Jesus Bible Institute in Zamboanga City, where he built a strong biblical foundation that continues to shape his ministry. His passion for God’s Word and his dedication to biblical teaching empower his leadership and guide his approach to ministry. Now, at 41, Pastor Von is unwavering in his commitment to advancing God’s Kingdom, empowering believers to live in freedom, and sharing the message of salvation with those in need.

Pastor Von is married to Shilohmei Salimbagat, and together they are blessed with two beautiful children: an 11-year-old daughter named Abby Grace and a 7-year-old son named Matt Jared. As a family, they work together in ministry, with Pastor Von and Shilohmei dedicating themselves to serving the Lord and impacting the lives of those in their community.

Together with his wife, Pastor Von is deeply involved in various ministries, impacting many lives and communities through their service to God. One of their primary ministries is Children’s Ministry, where both Pastor Von and Shilohmei are devoted to serving hundreds of children. They teach, nurture, and provide for the children, addressing both their physical and spiritual needs. Through Bible stories, activities, and love-filled guidance, they instill the truth of God’s Word, helping shape the children’s lives in meaningful ways. They also organize feeding programs to ensure that the children are well cared for, demonstrating the love of Christ through both words and actions.

In addition to their work with children, Pastor Von and Shilohmei are actively engaged in Youth Ministry, where they disciple and mentor hundreds of young people. Their focus is on equipping these youth with a strong foundation in faith, helping them navigate life with purpose, and training them to become passionate followers of Christ who can make a difference in their communities. Through Bible studies, youth camps, and personal mentoring, they encourage the next generation to grow in their relationship with God and to live out their faith boldly.

Their commitment also extends to Campus Ministry, where they reach over 700 high school students with the message of the Gospel. In these campuses, Pastor Von and Shilohmei foster an environment where students are encouraged to grow spiritually, build godly relationships, and develop a deeper understanding of the Word of God. They mentor the students, helping them to make decisions that align with God’s will for their lives, while also helping them to resist the temptations of the world.

Another significant area of Pastor Von and Shilohmei’s ministry is Prison Ministry, where they have a profound impact on over 300 prisoners. Their visits to the prisons provide spiritual guidance, counseling, and the hope of salvation to individuals who may feel forgotten or lost. Through these efforts, many prisoners have come to accept Christ, and the prison ministry has seen lives transformed by the power of the Gospel.
