Bentong is known for one of the largest Guangxi communities among Malaysian Chinese. It is commonly said that about 70–80% of Bentong's Chinese are of Guangxi descent.
文冬是马来西亚华人中广西人最集中的地方之一。一般说法是文冬华人约七八成祖籍广西。

The Bentong Guangxi Association, founded in 1910, is still active today. Bentong also has Hakka and other Chinese communities.

Bentong ginger is known for its strong aroma and pungency, and for holding a Pahang Geographical Indication. You will find it in local cooking, tea and snacks around town, and in our Bentong ginger dishes.
文冬姜以香辣浓郁闻名，并拥有彭亨地理标志。当地菜肴、姜茶与小吃都少不了它，我们也有多道文冬姜菜式。
What is Bentong famous for eating?文冬必吃
- Guangxi tofu puffs, the town's best-known snack; many visitors make a special trip for it. 广西酿豆卜，文冬最出名的小吃，不少游客专程前来品尝。
- Bentong chicken, steamed or white-cut, served with ginger. 文冬鸡，清蒸或白切，配姜蓉享用。
- Guangxi Three Treasures: chicken, braised pork belly and stuffed tofu puffs. 广西三宝：菜园鸡、扣肉与广西酿豆卜。

Has a well-known food personality visited?有名人到访吗？
As reported by China Press (Sept 2018), the celebrated food personality Chua Lam (蔡瀾), a revered figure in Malaysian and Hong Kong food culture, brought a group of food lovers to Bentong Loong Foong and praised the Guangxi flavours as close to the original.
据《中国报》2018年9月报道，知名美食家蔡瀾（马来西亚与香港饮食文化中备受尊崇的人物）曾带领一群美食爱好者到文東龍鳳酒樓用餐，称赞这里的广西风味接近原汁原味。

Bentong's old town centres on the streets near Jalan Chui Yin, with shophouses, coffee shops and local eateries within walking distance of the restaurant at 52 Jalan Chui Yin.
