We started Lomond Business Network for exactly that moment.
Events close to home, at times that work around real life

Started by two local women who felt the same gap you feel
That was September 2025. The need was already there.
We were just the ones who decided it was time to answer it.
Since then we have asked every room the same question: was that worth your morning?

Maybe you started last month. Maybe you have been at it five years. Maybe you're just thinking about starting a business.
Either way, some days it still feels like you are making it up as you go.
• You have googled things you feel you should already know by now.
Pricing, tax, contracts, proposals. Nobody trained you for any of it.
• You have looked at someone else’s business online and felt behind.
You know the comparison is unfair. You do it anyway.
• You have been to a networking event before
and you drove home flatter than when you set off.
• And the part you do not say out loud: there is no colleague to check in with.
Nobody to tell when a client says yes. The good days are quieter than they should be.
None of that means you are doing it wrong.
It means you are doing it on your own.
We run three kinds of event, plus regular co-working days.
Someone worth calling
Our networking mornings use speed networking and our Biz Tag tool, so you meet a lot of women fast and can still find the specific person you wanted. You will not leave with a stack of cards you never look at again.
Something you can use now
Our workshops cover the parts of business nobody trained you for. Pricing. Social media. Money. Marketing. Members tell us what they need and we go and find someone who can teach it.
A reason to keep going
Our talks bring in women who have built something and are willing to be honest about it. Inspiring women you'll still be talking about it days later.
A change of scenery
We run regular co-working day, usually in a month when there is no event, so there is always a point of connection. Bring your laptop and the admin job you have been avoiding. Work alongside women doing exactly the same thing.
Every event is a bit different, but the shape stays the same. Here is a typical morning.
From 9.30am, you arrive
Someone meets you at the door and takes your name. Usually that is Virginie or another one of our members.
You will not be left standing in a doorway working out where to go.
Your first five minutes
You scan a QR code and add yourself to the LBN Attendee Directory. Your name, your business, and a selfie you take there and then. Because nobody looks like their LinkedIn photo from two years ago. It goes up on the big screen and sits on everyone’s phone, so the room knows who you are before you have said a word to anyone.
Tea, coffee, and a seat
Grab a drink and sit at whichever table you like. There is no seating plan and no top table.
Then you add a Biz Tag. One small card saying either what you need help with or what you would like people to know about, with your name and your table number on it. That is how the right person finds you.
Around 10am, we start
A quick introduction from the hosts and we run through the morning. Then we go through the Biz Tags together on screen, so every ask in the room gets seen by the whole room.
The main part
Some months that is speed networking, which puts you in front of a lot of women quickly. Other months it is a speaker or a workshop. You will know exactly which one you are booking.
11.30am, we finish
If you need to get back to your day, go. If you can stay, we mingle on until twelve. Most people stay.
Events run on Tuesdays or Thursdays.
We send a short survey after every event and we do not ask for names.
Because honest feedback is more useful to us than flattering feedback.

In any given room you will find women in their first year of business and women in their fifteenth.
Sole traders, consultants, artists, coaches, and women in employed roles who lead teams and want to know people locally.
Mothers working around a school day.
Women who left a career to build something of their own and have not quite got used to saying so out loud.
They come from Balloch, Dumbarton, Helensburgh, Alexandria and the villages between them.
Some drive in from Stirling, Clydebank and Glasgow, which tells you how few rooms like this there are.
Nobody is ranked.
Nobody is asked to justify being here.
This network is for women, and everyone in it is figuring something out.
Neither of us planned to run a business network.
Virginie ran a wellness business in the Loch Lomond area and closed it in 2025. She had spent years wanting the kind of professional community that everyone else seemed to have. Everything she could find was an hour away, at the wrong time, or built for a life that did not look much like hers. In May 2025 she posted a video on Instagram asking whether anyone else felt the same.
Caroline replied the same day. She was working in a senior role at one of the area’s best-known hotels and had spent years watching this business community from the inside, seeing all the ability scattered across the area with nowhere to gather.
We met. We planned a first event for twenty women. And you already know what happened next.
Everything since has been built the same way.
We ask the room what they need, and then we go and find it.
We keep going because every event proves the same thing: when women in business find the right room, something shifts. Confidence grows. Ideas move. Referrals happen. Women who walked in as strangers leave as part of something.
