Contributor Guidelines

The Banshee welcomes contributions from writers, researchers, and enthusiasts with a genuine interest in Irish mythology, folklore, and cultural history. We are particularly interested in work that reflects careful research, thoughtful interpretation, and a strong narrative voice.

We accept original articles that explore mythological figures, legends, historical context, and interpretations of Irish folklore. Submissions should offer meaningful insight, whether through analysis, storytelling, or informed opinion supported by credible sources.

We do not accept content created for promotional purposes, submissions written on behalf of commercial clients, or articles that lack originality or subject matter depth.

All submissions must be original and unpublished elsewhere. Claims that are not widely accepted knowledge should be supported by verifiable sources. Accuracy is essential, and fabricated information or unsupported assertions are not permitted. Submissions should be written in UK or Irish English and maintain a consistent, professional tone.

Writers are encouraged to submit a brief pitch before drafting a full article. This should outline the proposed topic, the central idea, and any relevant background or sources. We review pitches within five working days and provide feedback where appropriate.

Accepted submissions are edited for clarity, tone, and consistency with editorial standards. Contributors are informed of any significant changes prior to publication.

Author biographies should be concise and provide relevant context about the writer’s background or interest in the subject. A single external link may be included where appropriate.

By submitting content, you confirm that it is your original work and that you hold the rights to publish it. The Banshee retains the right to publish and archive accepted material indefinitely.

Corrections Policy

The Banshee is committed to maintaining accuracy and integrity in all published content. Where factual errors are identified, we correct them promptly and provide a clear explanation of the update.

Requests for corrections can be submitted through the contact form. Please include the relevant page URL, a clear description of the issue, and any supporting evidence. All requests are reviewed carefully, and we aim to respond within five working days.

Where a correction is required, it will be made within the content and accompanied by a note indicating the date of correction and the nature of the change.

We do not alter editorial opinions, reinterpret creative material, or remove content solely on the basis of disagreement. Corrections apply only to verifiable factual inaccuracies.

If a correction request is declined and further evidence becomes available, it may be resubmitted for additional review.
