Hello, my name is Judy Bowman, I am a full-time, soul-winning cyclist and the founder of WHEEL POWER Christian Cyclists. I have been bicycling across America since 1990, sharing Jesus and teaching believers how to talk to anyone, anytime and anyplace about Jesus.
PICKLEBALL is the fastest growing sport in the USA, with over 5 million players in all 50 States. it is fun for all ages and an amazing platform to share the Gospel. This easy to learn sport provides exercise and opportunities for people to develop new relationships, grow friendships and strengthen one another in life and faith.
Since 2010, I have been the Pickleball Ambassador in South Central Virginia, mainly Lynchburg, and served as the State of Virginia Pickleball Tournament Director for eight years. As a former Physical Education teacher and coach, also a competitive, collegiate tennis and basketball athlete, I enjoy playing the sport and teaching Pickleball to all levels and ages of players. However, my strongest desire is to use Pickleball to get the Gospel message out to more people through this sport.
With Pickleball growing more and more popular, we believe that this gives the local churches an opportunity to welcome pickleball into their communities which will provide them with opportunities to share their faith.
I would enjoy working with you to help bring Pickleball to your church and community. The Pickleball Ministry strives to be a family outreach program, although we have found it to be most successful with the adult and senior population at this time. However, after an adult program is established, a youth program can easily be developed bringing together the whole family, from ages 6 to 96. This sports’ ministry program provides all the necessary skills needed for a well-rounded, enjoyable and fun experience. It is our hope that everyone in the family will come out to give it a try. It’s a “dilly of a sport”!
