MEET THE SPIRITUAL ENGINEER

Dr. Kluane Spake

There's gotta be more, and there is. I help people who are looking for more rightly rebuild their faith with honesty, accuracy, depth, and wonder.

I was named after a lake in the Yukon. My dad delivered mail by dog team in the Arctic. So I guess adventure was always in my blood.

I grew up in Anchorage, raised my family in Fairbanks, and pastored for 14½ years in Guam. For 45+ years I've helped people separate what Scripture actually says from what tradition added on top of it.

I've taught worldwide as a theologian, author of 30+ books, International Apostle, licensed coach and counselor, and certified hypnotherapist. I hold two earned doctorates.

But for a long time, I didn't want to question either. As a minister, I wanted to belong to the ministerial groups around me. The deeper I went into the original languages and history, the more I saw that belonging and truth weren't always the same thing. In the end, the truth mattered more.

Today I live in Atlanta with my husband, Rodell. I'm a mom of four, a grandmother of seven, and a brand-new great-grandmother. I love travel, a cappella singing, and graphic design.

I honor the sacred. I question the inherited. And I believe every person deserves a faith that is free of fear and full of wonder.
