The first Pan American Round Table (PART) was founded by Florence Terry Griswold in San Antonio, Texas on October 16, 1916. Mrs. Griswold never relinquished her vision of having many Pan American Round Tables established in every Republic of the Western Hemisphere. She zealously urged that the organization advance from the local Table, to a strong state structure and then to expand into a united framework in which the women of the Americas, "would forge an unbroken chain of friendship reaching the length of the hemisphere."
